Retiree Storytelling Workshop:
Best Practices for Communicating Your Union Story
& Political Organizing
We know every retiree has a deep reserve of experiences involving unionism and membership, and there have always been retirees who have connected with their locals to share their experiences for the latest generation of in-service members. This half day workshop builds on that practice at a statewide level.
The workshop focuses on new best practices to draw on a career’s worth of experience to effectively tell their union story and relating it to the reality of current in-service members. The goal is to talk about the work of real change, and demonstrate how organizing and collective action can effect change on today’s issues. This also includes learning about unique and updated issues in-services members face as well reviewing some of more universal challenges the members have always faced.
